The Ghana Advocacy Agenda of People Living with NCDs is a key advocacy tool that amplifies the voices of individuals affected by non-communicable diseases in Ghana. Developed through national consultations and launched in 2019, it drives policy action to strengthen NCD prevention, treatment, and inclusion in Ghana’s health response.

The Ghana Advocacy Agenda of People Living with NCDs was developed through a consultative process involving over 100 people living with NCDs, caregivers, and key stakeholders.

Following an online consultation and a national workshop in 2018, a working group synthesized priorities into a structured advocacy agenda, focusing on four key areas: Human Rights & Social Justice; Prevention; Treatment, Care, and Support; and Meaningful Involvement. Since its launch in 2019, the Agenda has served as a foundation for Ghana NCD Alliance’s advocacy efforts, influencing policies on NCD prevention, taxation on unhealthy commodities, and Universal Health Coverage. It has also mobilized community networks, amplified voices through media, and shaped national policy discussions, including engagements with Presidential candidates and policymakers.
