Global Monitoring Framework and Targets for NCDs
On 15 December, 2011, The World Health Organization (WHO) hosted a civil society consultation in Geneva to provide an update on UN member state progress towards development of global and national NCD targets to measure progress on NCDs. These targets will be considered by WHO member states at the May 2012 World Health Assembly.
A member state consultation on targets and indicators was hosted by WHO on 9 January, 2012 in Geneva. The NCD Alliance delivered a presentation at this meeting summarizing the outputs of the NGO consultation.
To faciliate this process, the NCD Alliance offered to collect NGO views on WHOs proposal to Member States for the global monitoring framework and examples of voluntary global targets. The proposals can be viewed by clicking the link on the left hand bar.
